Update: I can't get any sound at all through my microphone. Any help you could give in helping me find a solution would be much appreciated. If it turns out I need to put something in front of the blackjack to boost the gain, I would be happy to do that. ![]() I realise most people mic their amp, and I will be doing this once my microphone cable arrives, however it would be nice to plug my guitar straight into the Blackjack and get some output. I have a '69 thinline Tele, using a Planet Waves cable which is plugged directly into the Blackjack. I suspect the hissing is mostly due to ungrounded electrics inside my tele, but that is another issue I'll address this weekend with a soldering iron. This is what it sounds like with full gain and 100% input on everything I could think of. I have the 'Hi-Z' setting on, which is what the instructions say you should use when using DI. I tried plugging the guitar directly in, as shown here, but have to turn the gain up to full to get a barely audible amount of noise. ![]() I was looking at the audiobox vsl but it doesn't have line level inputs, which would be nice if I wanted to connect my keyboards and record directly from my mixer. Hey, I recently got a Mackie Onyx Blackjack and would like to use it to record my guitar. Focusrite 2i2 or Mackie Onyx Blackjack I need an audio interface for mobile recording.
